National Bando Summer Camp

AUGUST 21st - 23rd

We are very excited to announce that the 2015 Bando Animal Camp will be held on August 21st – 23rd, at Strouds Run State Park in Athens, OH.

The camp is designed to train martial art practitioners in the Bando Animal Systems: 1] Tiger, 2] Eagle, 3] Cobra, 4] Panther, 5] Bull, 6] Boar, 7] Viper, 8] Python, and 9] Scorpion systems.

In Bando, we study and perform animal systems for three major reasons:

  1. 1.To pay special tribute to the spirits of the regal animals of the wild,
  2. 2.To understand their survival strategies as predators and prey, and
  3. 3.To emulate their movements so as to improve one’s martial skill.

In addition, we are privileged to have in attendance Mahasayaji Dr. U Maung Gyi, Chief Instructor - American Bando Association, to lecture on the importance of cultivating perceptual acuity, mental alertness, and physical skill of the animal practitioner and the interrelatedness of anatomy, geometry, and geography for the respective animal systems.

Camp pre-registration forms will be available at the 2015 National Freestyle Martial Arts Tournament in May.  Once your information has been received, you will receive a registration packet in advance of the camp start date.

ABA Members in good standing will receive a reduced camp rate of $150.00.  Please make sure your ABA membership is up to date!

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Bando Animal Camp and may we continue to expand our knowledge and experience together.
